Denys Scully was born and raised in British Columbia. After college, Denys served as a police officer for 25 years in various capacities in Quebec, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. During his policing career, he completed interdisciplinary Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees with studies in History, Psychology, Philosophy, Criminology, Business and more.

Denys has always enjoyed helping others succeed through education. In policing, he worked as a trainer and educator for police officers and community members and taught at the post-secondary level for four and a half years. Denys has also been an active educator in his local church for decades. He completed four years of Theological and Pastoral Care education and served for three years in full-time parish ministry.

Denys and his wife Sharon (married for almost 40 years) raised three daughters and have had many young people coming and going from their home over the years, including several international students. Because of these experiences, he especially enjoys helping young men and fathers find their way through the precarious nature of life and vocation today. Denys has also been an active volunteer in coaching hockey, soccer and basketball and serving in various capacities in his local church.

As a coach, Denys understands the need for practical hands-on help, guidance and equipping – especially for young adults and married couples. In addition to being a Live on Purpose Certified Coach, Denys is also certified as a Leadership Coach with the International Academy of Public Safety and is a Licensed Associate with the Consulting Resource Group International.

As your coach, Denys will combine his experience as a police officer, educator, spiritual care provider, sports coach and community volunteer to practically and creatively assist you to live more optimally and serve more purposefully.
